Sign up for this class and immerse yourself in a luxury ribbon-work retreat in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. During this 2-day retreat, Tamara will instruct you in the techniques of ribbon-work through her lens of balance, movement, texture, and of course, Color! Tamara is debuting a new floral vase project in her series – inspired by the pink floral chintz chairs at Stitching Fox. Her passion and knowledge for flowers comes from years of corporate floral design. Every seasonal piece she designs is researched to make each flower as authentic as possible. She doesn’t believe in “beginner” projects, “you need to love the finished project to learn it.” Her teaching philosophy is “to work with your mistakes so that you keep going and keep trying.” In a fun and casual setting, she shares the tips & tricks that she discovered that helped her “rip out less, have better secured stitches,” and kept her wanting to experiment and learn more.
The level of this class is Intermediate. You should be able to read a stitch guide and determine the starting area on your canvas. You should also know how to lay threads and basic beading and stitches like French knots, Basketweave and Mosaic.
Two days (6 hrs/day) of instruction by nationally accredited needlepoint instructor, Tamara Abdee.
Lunch included daily. Class limit: 14
